Blaze Group LLC Named Webby Award Honoree for Best in Metaverse, Immersive & Virtual - Business & Technology in the 27th Annual Webby Awards

Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, The Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), is the leading international awards organization honoring excellence on the Internet. IADAS, which nominates and selects The Webby Award Winners, is comprised of Internet industry experts including Questlove, DJ and Producer; Tan France, Fashion Designer, Television Personality & Author; Natalie Guzman, Co-President & CMO, Savage X Fenty; Werner Vogels CTO, Amazon; Roxanne Gay, Host, The Roxanne Gay Agenda; Quinta Brunson, Writer, Director and Actor; Ziwe Fumudoh, Comedian and Writer; Reshma Saujani, Founder, Girls Who Code; LeVar Burton, Actor, Podcaster and TV Host; Andy Slavit, Host, In The Bubble; Takashi Murakami, Artist; Samantha Bee, Comedian; and Tracy Chou, Founder & CEO, Block Party.


The Blaze Virtual Summit® is a bi-annual global virtual summit hosted by BLAZE GROUP LLC which brings together Black women entrepreneurs around the globe in an engaging 5-day event.


Fast Forward to the Future was the theme of the Blaze Virtual Summit® | Summer 2022 where we offered Black female entrepreneurs the knowledge, tools and expertise they need to keep pace with rapid changes being spurred by Web 3.0, new demand for de-centralization and software-as-a-service solutions. The summit was proudly sponsored by Kiva US, an organization that provides interest-free financing solutions to underfunded early-stage entrepreneurs.


We had 35 industry-leading speakers come to teach and edify more than 5,000 viewers who tuned in to participate in the event. We also had a lineup of female DJs and Pilates Instructors who had everyone loosening up and having a great time during the summit. Additionally, our attendees got to experience the world of Virtual Reality firsthand as we hosted networking activations in the Metaverse that many described as exhilarating!


Access was a key factor for Founder, Casey Ariel Richardson, when she curated this epic programming. Black women-owned businesses lack access to capital, mentorship and knowledge relative to their peers. As a result, many of them are left behind when it comes to technology and how they should be leveraging it to move their businesses forward. Casey made the summit absolutely free for all attendees to ensure that world-class knowledge was delivered in terms that Black women could resonate with.
